Couples Therapy

Couples therapy is a means of resolving problems and conflicts that couples have not been able to handle effectively on their own. It involves both partners sitting down with a trained therapist to discuss their concerns, thoughts, and feelings. The intention is to help them gain a better understanding of themselves and their partner, to decide if they need and want to make changes, and if so, to help them to do so.

What you can expect:

Dr. Francis offers weekly 50 min sessions for couples that are in distress or facing a crisis. Couples therapy focuses on both partners and the dynamics of the relationship. Often, it is recommended that couples therapy schedule 2 or 3 hour sessions in order to maximize the benefits of couples therapy.

A Couples Intake session consists of identifying the stressors that are in the relationship, history, symptom checklist, and treatment planning. A Couples Intake Session also will review paperwork and is scheduled for two hours.
